Manya, many Brits have started caring again since the country went into recession.
Matthew, Julia -- have you heard from the women you profiled since your stories on them went live?
Matthew is in Cairo with a dodgy internet connection.
Julia, Ukraine seems to be in all sorts of trouble. From the outside, it seems as though it has taken several steps back since the Orange Revolution. Yet, Olena is determined to stick it out. She's dedicated.
So Matthew, what's the latest with Maram, the woman you profiled? How does she feel this week's presidential election went?
Probably is. But there are systems and there are systems. India is in flux now, moving away from caste and toward something resembling a socio-economic class system.
There certainly are common themes. But one of the things that surprised me in editing this series is that ideas of social class are local, not global.
@Alex, yes. Status is defined locally. One person's bling is another's trash. Also, class is rarely strictly economic.
Matthew, will Maram and her mom vote in the Presidential runoff? If so, will they choose the Muslim Brother or the ex-military guy?
@Julia, we didn't explore the angle of credit availability. It's a good one, especially now that credit is LESS available in the US and many European countries, post 2008.
